Job Responsibilities
The IT Systems Administrator reports directly to the Vice President of QA/QC, with additional oversight from the President, and is part of the Management Team.
The role of the IT Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the company’s IT systems, which underpin our operations across Emergency Response operations, as instructed by our company Kingdom Purpose, “to care for it and maintain it.” Also, the following Core Values should be the guiding principles in all decisions, both long term and short term.

The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing hands-on support for day-to-day IT operations. This includes managing helpdesk, providing technical assistance to users, maintaining computer systems and networks, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting in various IT projects as directed by the IT Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to translate technical jargon into easy-to- understand language for non-technical employees.
- Provide first line of IT support to internal staff, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email, or in-person
- Maintain, update, and optimize essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Spearhead projects, implement solutions, and undertake crucial responsibilities within larger business initiatives.
- Oversee business-critical IT tasks and systems, ensuring a competitive edge in our industry.
- Assist with the maintenance of network infrastructure, including data center, network equipment, servers and software applications
- Respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
- Assist with network and hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs
- Maintain user PCs, printers, servers, and other hardware technologies
- Participate in setup and takedown of network infrastructures at various sites as needed
- Coordinate with vendors for the repair or system malfunctions that are beyond the scope of internal capability
- Develop and maintain a dependable IT infrastructure and network, ensuring its optimal operation. This includes maintaining and updating internal infrastructure such as laptops, desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and ensuring regular security updates.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external partners, providing updates on project status, activities, and accomplishments.
- Administer server tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research on event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring. Ensure system architecture components operate together seamlessly.
- Support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments. Assist the help desk and other teams in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and providing technical support.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures in alignment with the company’s objectives.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Lead the planning and implementation of hardware and software upgrades.

Qualifications for IT Systems Admistrator:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 cloud services, including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure AD with cloud-based email system administration.
- Familiar with VPN configuration, preferably Edge VPN such as CATO
- Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing computers, printers and network systems
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality user experience
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the role
- Able to lift at least 50lbs.
